Freight Train

Today, my son, Tobrung (2 years 10 months old) and I made a freight train using a sponge. We did it because he wanted to paint a train. Then I searched on the internet and many moms said it was a good idea to make a freight train using a sponge. Here we go, we did it, and it was fun!

Tools :

  • Crayola washable painting
  • A circle sponge paint brush
  • A paint brush
  • Colored Pencils

Picture no. 1 and 2 : He and I drew the railroad, I drew first (black pencil) then he drew next (blue pencil)

Picture no. 3 and 4 : He painted the sponge that I’ve already cut into 2 small rectangles.

Picture no. 5 : I made rectangles for the train, so then it would be easier for him to know where to stamp using the sponge.

Picture no. 6 : He wanted to paint some of rectangles using the paint brush instead of using the sponge

Picture no. 7 : He improvised, tried to make a horizontal and a vertical triangle for the train chimney

Picture no. 8 : He made the wheels using the circle sponge paint brush

Picture no. 9 : He drew a line between one rectangle to others, to connect them. He also drew window on each rectangle using the circle sponge paint brush

Picture no. 10 : He drew me, he said. Hahaha!

I helped him to drew sun, clouds, birds, and wrote “TRAIN” on the paper. Meanwhile, he drew the hot air balloon (look at the orange circle next to the sun lol).

Here we go the freight train, choo…choo…
